Even though I’m mostly an introvert my art definitely shows the extrovert side of me. It celebrates the wonders in the world around us. I love thinking and observing deeply and recombining everything into my spontaneous art.

My colorful art is usually created in the darkness of night-in solitude with specifically selected music and 5-6 hours of uninterrupted time.

As I start with a blank surface there is no clear outcome in my mind.

I respond to many deeply imbedded images from close observation of nature, fractals, a love of music, poetry & philosophy as well as the work of other artists who create surprising art reflecting their unique individuality. I’m challenged by the ideas of organized chaos.

Years ago I was inspired by Paul Cezanne’s statement that “everything in nature can be reduced to geometric shapes.” It was one of the things that inspired me to look differently at everything and eventually become an abstract artist.

My current work is mixed media. I honor the specific properties of each medium as I create. There’s a non-verbal dialogue between what is happening on the surface and myself as I work for an artistic outcome. My art includes acrylics, alcohol inks, gel pens and collage from everything I save or artist friends give me. I like the excitement of exploring the unknown and combining my experiences into art.

So why am I an artist and why do I create art? Art is my passion and my life! It’s my way of absorbing everything around me and giving images back that represent my individuality.
