Mary Grady

It was March of 2023, about eight months after my sister passed away from cancer. I was thinking about what I could do to honor her as Spring approached. As a Master Gardener, she loved flowers – and she equally loved animals. She possessed a true caring heart.

My heart decided i should learn to paint flowers and animals with watercolor. This was a challenge for me because as we were celebrating her life three months after she passed, I too was diagnosed with cancer.

After a childhood of feeling “not good enough” as an artist, combined with my personal emotions, I felt it was time.  I made a commitment to paint for my sister and for me. I named my venture “Late Bloomer Paintings” in honor of my sister and the fact that I began painting at 63 years old.
