Mari Anna Chism

My work attempts to explore the intersection of color, texture and pattern that when combined create a piece that causes the viewer to be drawn into it. I often work in many layers and am fascinated by repetitive patterns which are often linear. As a child growing up in an agricultural region, I was mesmerized by the color and undulating patterns of farm fields. This is echoed in much of my work.
