Founded on July 23, 2007, by Frank Juarez (publisher of Artdose magazine), the SVA began with its first gathering of four artists—Dale Knaak, Stuart Howland, Mary Kuehl, and Frank Juarez—alongside art patron Dr. Jack Westfall. Together, they set out to create a platform that champions artists and strengthens creative community. That vision continues to thrive today, empowering and enlivening the Wisconsin art scene.
