SVA In the Community

Gallery exhibition is not the end of the story....

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope is SVA's community outreach initiative providing free art workshops to children and some adults receiving services from Sheboygan's three homeless shelters and Sheboygan County Foster Care. Kaleidoscope's goals are to provide participants with opportunities to experience the joy of art through expressive art activities, to encourage the constructive use of leisure time, and to stimulate participant's involvement in their community and beyond. Kaleidoscope artwork has been included in several local art exhibits, including traveling exhibits through Sheboygan County Health and Human Services facilities, as well as the Milwaukee Art Museum and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Kaleidoscope has provided 260+ workshops for 3,000+ participants from June 2015-March 2020. Kaleidoscope currently provides backpacks of art supplies to children living in shelters while waiting to resume in-person services.

Art and Good Company

Every Thursday afternoon, SVA opens its Art Factory doors to anyone who wants to create art.  Led by esteemed member, Marla Payne, the group works on director-led projects, or whatever the person wishes to create.  Materials are donated but feel free to bring your own.  Email Marla for more info.

High School Scholarships

The Sheboygan Visual Artists annually offers two $1,500 scholarships to high school students pursuing further education in the visual arts.

Annual deadline is March 15

Bench Painting Project 2020

These colorful benches will be placed at the Shaw Family Playground at Evergreen Park.  One is even painted on the underside of the seat so little ones crawling around will find a surprise.

Thank you SVA members and friends, Sue Baumgart and her friend Bee, Ray Hagerman, Marla Payne, and Cher Ebersole.
